Dear OMS Families,
Middle school is a big step from elementary school. These years are often recalled later as a time of "growing pains." While we ourselves may remember feelings of awkwardness or insecurity as we navigated the suddenly all-new social situation, these years are also incredibly important ones in a child's life. It's a time where he or she gains more independence and responsibilities, making choices and gaining confidence... and, yeah... sometimes learning from mistakes along the way. As parents of wonderful (and let's face it, often moody) tweenagers, we totally get it.
The OMS PTA is here to help and support you and your child, offering programs and events to help make this an exciting and rewarding time. You probably know about some of the important things that the PTA does for our children and the OMS school community: We sponsor educational presentations and assemblies, coordinate the 6th Grade Spaghetti Dinner, organize the spring Staff Appreciation Luncheon, provide hospitality at various OMS events and concerts, and much more! We hope you will join the OMS PTA to help us continue this beneficial support this upcoming school year.
We also hope you will take the opportunity to get involved in coordinating or volunteering for some of these programs and events throughout the school year. (See our below Volunteer Application form). Your participation and input is always welcome. Please email me if you have any questions, at any time: firstname.lastname@example.org
Best wishes for a rewarding and enriching (and hopefully gray-hair free!) middle school experience. Have a wonderful year!
